Coombe Crafts was established in a small village in Wiltshire by two friends in the mid 80’s to produce unusual and original craft items. An especial interest was always dolls - dolls with a difference. So we produced poppy seed-head dolls, soft sculpture dolls and apple-head dolls - all sorts of dolls were made from all sorts of materials. A chance encounter with Pat Cutforth and the Marlborough Dolls House Fair, led us into our first miniature work.

Although it is still a two-person team , my husband is now my partner and we have been able to extend our range to include individually handcrafted pieces of unusual furniture and accessories, and allow the old folks to have some grandchildren , comfy chairs and knick-knacks!

We try and juggle our time to attend a limited number of fairs, as it is important to stay in touch, while allowing us to deal with mail order and commission pieces as well as continuing to develop our work. If someone had said back then that I’d still be crafting 20 years later, and posting to Europe and U.S.A., I would have laughed! But it is still fun and challenging, and with the advent of the internet, we hope we can reach even more miniature enthusiasts and make new friends.

We are always happy to hear from you, provide more details or discuss your ideas for a possible commission. A comprehensive, illustrated price list is also available, and if you would like to receive a copy of this, please send 5 x 1st class stamps to the address you will find on the Ordering Details. Sadly, it is never possible to stay up-to-date with the web-site, but hope that it will give a flavour of our work.

I am proud to be a member of ARTISANS IN MINIATURE - AIM - An association of professional Artisians, dedicated to promoting a high standard of excellence in original handcrafted miniatures. Do visit our website www.artisansinminiature.com and also take a look at the terrific FREE Online Magazine.
